Early Menopause Symptoms

If you are a young woman, you might think that menopause isn’t something that is going to happen to you for quite a while. However, early onset menopause is becoming more prevalent, and unfortunately the process can’t be reversed for many who are affected by it. Early menopause symptoms can begin to present themselves to some women, who haven’t even reached their 30′s or 40′s. The following are some indicators associated with early menopause symptoms.

Risk Factors

Some women are more at risk of developing early menopause symptoms. For instance, women who are suffering from an autoimmune disorder have a greater chance of getting early onset menopause, which of course means that symptoms will be experienced. Another risk for early menopause is suffering from an eating disorder of some kind that leads to losing a drastic amount of weight.

Undergoing reproductive organ surgery such as tubal ligation, ovarian surgery, or a hysterectomy can possibly lead to early menopause symptoms. Also, cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation can lead to early menopause due to ovaries being damaged beyond repair.

What Are the Symptoms

The early menopause symptoms experienced by women will vary. With that said, some early menopause symptoms are fairly consistent among most women. Irregular periods are one such symptom. A type of perimenopause is experienced in most women before actual menopause begins to set in. This involves periods that begin to spread out more and more over time.

For instance, a 28 day cycle that you normally would have might now be 30-35 days. You will experience this if you naturally go through an early menopause. The intensity of the symptoms will increase while a cessation for periods will probably begin immediately, if you experience a chemically induced early menopause.

The following are some additional early menopause symptoms:

  • depression
  • headaches
  • water retention
  • night sweats
  • body hair changes
  • vaginal dryness
  • mood swings
  • hot flashes
  • chronic fatigue

Now, every woman’s body is different, so one woman may get one set of early menopause symptoms, while another may experience symptoms that are completely different. If you think that you may be going through early menopause symptoms, then you should go see your doctor.

No one else knows you body like you do. If you want to have children and are still at a young age, consult your doctor to find out what you can possibly do to slow down menopause.
